Abstract: |
This thesis deals with problems of Internet telephony security. It also contains description of basic properties and characteristics of Voice over IP technology, voice codecs, real-time transport protocols and VoIP signalling protocols for establishing and managing calls.
I also categorised possible threats and attacts and included their short descriptions and specified basic requirements on safe and secure operation. Next part of the thesis covers secured real-time protocols for media stream transport and security mechanisms defined for signaling protocols. This part is concluded with a list of selected VoIP clients, with their features and implemented security mechanisms.
The last part of the thesis deals with tested attacks and analyses of chosen clients with respect to information the clients send to the Internet about their users. A description of a design and implementation of a transparent security proxy for audio data concludes the thesis. |
