Abstract: |
This bachelor thesis analyzes threats of the operating system GNU/Linux and its abilities of their elimination in relation to the network in an academic environment. The work is divided into four basic logical parts, where we in sequence get acquainted with the issue of security at an operating system level, from problems of network security to physical security. In the final part an example of network is described and graphically demonstrated, which could appear in an academic environment. The issue is watched from an administrator´s side so that the analysis of security risks is described theoretically up to the point and exact exploiting methods are hidden. The software that is used is mostly Open Source-based, which has pros and cons, that are mentioned in the opening chapter. This work is an administrator guide which helps to find a solution of security not only of an academic network step by step.
